The Willie Jeffries School of Excellence (WJSE) is a groundbreaking educational opportunity brought to the Orangeburg, South Carolina community through the visionary leadership of football legend Coach Willie Jeffries, in partnership with the Berkeley Charter Education Association and the Charter Institute at Erskine.
Founded in 2023 and officially opening its doors for the 2024–2025 school year, WJSE is committed to providing a free, world-class education that emphasizes academic excellence, a vibrant school culture, and a deep connection to the community. At WJSE, every student is empowered to thrive and achieve their highest potential.
WJSE will serve grade levels K-8 at full matriculation. Grade levels K-6 will be served in the first year of operation (2024-2025), and a grade level will be added each year until grades K-8 are served.
